Working Towards a Brighter Future

  • According to a survey by the American Psychological Association, stress is a top health concern for high school students, who underestimate the potential impact stress has on their overall well-being.

  • Nearly half of teenagers in the United States report that they are not doing enough to manage their stress and more than 1 in every 10 teens say that they do not set aside time to manage stress.

  • Levels of stress and the negative repercussions that follow it have constantly been on the rise due to hectic lifestyles, environmental factors, and other challenges.

  • Stress is also strongly linked to all 6 leading causes of death-heart disease, cancer, lung ailments, accidents, cirrhosis of the liver, and suicide.

  • Stress has been called the "health epidemic of the 21st century" by the World Health Organization
