According to a survey by the American Psychological Association, stress is a top health concern for high school students, who underestimate the potential impact stress has on their overall well-being.
Nearly half of teenagers in the United States report that they are not doing enough to manage their stress and more than 1 in every 10 teens say that they do not set aside time to manage stress.
Levels of stress and the negative repercussions that follow it have constantly been on the rise due to hectic lifestyles, environmental factors, and other challenges.
Stress is also strongly linked to all 6 leading causes of death-heart disease, cancer, lung ailments, accidents, cirrhosis of the liver, and suicide.
Stress has been called the "health epidemic of the 21st century" by the World Health Organization
